Welcome to Dango ("the Tool", "Software", "we", "us", or "our").
Please read these Terms of Service and Disclaimers ("Terms") carefully before accessing, using, or distributing the Software. By accessing the web application, downloading standalone builds, running container images, or utilizing any portion of the Software, you confirm that you have read, understood, and unconditionally agreed to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Software.
1. Nature of the Tool & "AS-IS" Provision
Open-Source & Client-Side Utility
- Dango is an open-source, lightweight, browser-based visual thinking, diagramming, and mind-mapping utility executed entirely on the client side.
- The Software operates as a neutral, local productivity tool. Its execution relies solely on the user's local computing environment and does not provide or rely on centralized content hosting, server-side processing, or intermediary content moderation.
Provided "AS-IS" and "AS-AVAILABLE"
- The Software is provided to the public free of charge on an "AS-IS" and "AS-AVAILABLE" basis.
- To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developers expressly disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, error-free operation, uninterrupted availability, or data integrity. Users assume all technical and legal risks associated with their use of the Tool.
2. User Content & Exclusive Legal Responsibility
Content Ownership
- Users retain 100% full ownership, copyright, and intellectual property rights in and to any text, drawings, layout structures, charts, annotations, images, ideas, and materials created, entered, processed, or generated using Dango ("User Content").
- The developers claim no rights, title, or interest in any User Content.
Sole and Exclusive Legal Liability
- "The Creator is Solely Responsible": Each user is solely, entirely, and exclusively liable for all User Content created locally, as well as for any User Content distributed, transmitted, posted, or made accessible to third parties via exported files (
.dango), rendered images, or URL hash links. - Any opinions, concepts, expressions, claims, or statements documented or shared through the Software are solely those of the individual user and do not represent, endorse, or reflect the views, beliefs, policies, or official stance of the developers or maintainers of Dango.
- "The Creator is Solely Responsible": Each user is solely, entirely, and exclusively liable for all User Content created locally, as well as for any User Content distributed, transmitted, posted, or made accessible to third parties via exported files (
3. Acceptable Use Policy & Prohibited Activities
You agree to use Dango strictly in compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws, regulations, and public morals. You are strictly prohibited from using the Software to create, store, display, convey, or distribute any content that:
- Threatens National Security or Sovereignty: Promotes violent extremism, terrorism, insurrection, sedition, the overthrow of legitimate government regimes, the violation of national unity or sovereignty, or the unlawful disclosure of state or defense secrets;
- Incites Violence, Hatred, or Discrimination: Advocates violence, hate speech, or harassment against any group or individual based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality;
- Spreads Defamation or Infringement: Infringes upon the copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, patents, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other proprietary rights of any third party, or contains defamatory, libelous, or slanderous material;
- Distributes Malicious or Obscene Material: Contains malware, trojans, phishing schemes, spyware, or promotes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), non-consensual pornography, illegal gambling, or criminal conduct;
- Aids or Abets Illegal Conduct: Facilitates financial fraud, scams, identity theft, or any other activity prohibited by criminal or civil law.
4. Technical Neutrality & Inability to Monitor or Moderate Content
Client-Side Execution & Technical Neutrality
- Due to its Zero-Server, Local-First Architecture, Dango executes entirely on client hardware within the browser's sandbox.
- The developers technically cannot, do not, and have no authority or mechanism to inspect, review, monitor, audit, filter, redact, or delete content created locally by users.
- The developers do not operate a centralized public publishing directory, social feed, or cloud gallery. Any dissemination of User Content occurs exclusively through external third-party communication channels (such as external forums, social media platforms, email, or file sharing services) chosen solely by the user. Such distribution represents independent actions occurring solely between the user and those third-party platforms.
Takedown & Abuse Inquiries
- Because the developers do not host, store, or have access to any user-generated data or encoded URL hashes, the developers cannot delete, modify, or take down local client data.
- If any individual or entity believes that a file, image, or URL link generated with Dango infringes their legal rights or violates the law, the affected party must direct their claims or takedown notices to the actual platform or host where the infringing content is hosted or transmitted.
5. Limitation of Liability
No Liability for Local Data Loss
- The user acknowledges that canvas persistence depends on browser
localStorageand client file storage. Data may be lost or corrupted due to browser cache clearing, private/incognito session closure, browser crashes, hardware failures, or operating system updates. - The developers shall not be liable for any data loss, data corruption, or inability to recover canvas content. - Open-Source License
- The source code of Dango is distributed under the open-source license declared in the project's root repository (such as the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 / AGPL-3.0).
